Junior Volunteer Program
Washington Health System Washington Hospital offers teens unique and rewarding volunteer opportunities. The Junior Volunteer Program is comprised of high school students ages 14 and older. Teens are accepted into the program three times a year—January, May, and September. Applications, parent permission forms, and teacher reference forms will be mailed to interested students. Through an individual interview, we assess skills and interests to determine those teens who will be accepted into the program.
The Junior Volunteer Program provides an opportunity to explore health care careers. You may request to work in an area that allows you to observe and participate in the activities of that profession. The hospital experience exposes teens to a professional atmosphere and numerous careers, which may lead to a potential healthcare career interest.
Additionally, The Washington Hospital Auxiliary awards four scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $1,000 to Junior Volunteers to pursue higher education.
