Rehabilitation Services - Inpatient Staff
Our inpatient staff consists of seven Physical Therapists, two Physical Therapist Assistants, five Occupational Therapists, three Occupational Therapy Assistants, two Speech Language Pathologists and four Rehab Attendants.
All of our therapists are licensed by the State of Pennsylvania and have a combined total of more than 275 years of experience caring for patients.
Our staff works closely with the nurses, physicians, and other ancillary departments and are committed to providing the highest level of care.
Our inpatient area is located on the 4th floor of the hospital and includes PT and OT gyms, two Speech offices, as well as our OT apartment and “Main Street”, which includes a car, putting green, and grocery area, with varying floor surfaces and levels.
Susan Allen, PT
Susan graduated from the Ohio State University in 1969 and has practiced for the past 40 years. She enjoys treating patients of all ages. She has worked in acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities and outpatient clinics in the surrounding Washington area. She has been a physical therapist for Washington Health System Washington Hospital for 17 years and is a graduate of Trinity High School.
Susan Alrutz, PT
Sue graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy. She has worked clinically in both inpatient and outpatient settings over the years. Sue has been in a management role at Washington Health System Washington Hospital since 1991. She has been the Director of Rehabilitation Services since 1997 and currently manages more than 50 staff members.
Nicole Benson, MOTR/L
Nicole graduated with a Masters of Occupational Therapy in 2007 from Duquesne University. She has worked in a variety of settings which include inpatient acute care, skilled nursing and acute rehabilitation.
Beth Curtis, PTA
Beth graduated from the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at the Butler County Community College in 1998. She joined Washington Health System Washington Hospital following graduation, working primarily on our transitional care unit for several years. In 2004 Beth moved to our acute rehab unit and continues to practice in this area along with coverage on various inpatient units as needed.
Judith Denault, COTA
Judi graduated from the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program at the Community College of Allegheny County in 1998. She has extensive experience in various settings including inpatient acute care, outpatient hand therapy and work hardening.
Collette DiLeonardo, MPT CCCE
Colette graduated from Duquesne University in 1997 with a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy. She has worked for the hospital for over 12 years, the last 3 years as the Inpatient Rehab Manager. Through her continuing education and work she has gained valuable experience in a variety of settings including outpatient, acute care, inpatient orthopedics, and inpatient rehabilitation.
Hillary Faryna, MOTR/L
Hillary graduated from Gannon University with a Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2011. She joined Washington Health System Washington Hospital Rehab Team following graduation and enjoys working in inpatient acute care.
Rebecca Holtzer, COTA/L
Rebecca graduated from the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program at the Community College of Allegheny County in 2009. She enjoys working with a variety of patients and has experience with skilled nursing, long tern care and inpatient acute care. Rebecca joined the Washington Hospital team in 2011.
Noelle Isiminger, DPT
Noelle graduated from West Virginia University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology and in May 2011 with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She joined Washington Health System Washington Hospital rehab team in October 2011. She has experience in various settings including acute rehab, long term care, skilled nursing, outpatient and inpatient hospital acute care.
Sara Knabb, MOTR/L
Sara graduated in 2011 with her Masters in Occupational Therapy from Chatham University and joined Washington Health System Washington Hospital staff following graduation. She graduated from Ohio University in 2006 with her undergraduate degree in Early Childhood Education and was also a member of the Women's Soccer team. Sara has experience in various settings including acute care, work hardening, outpatient hand therapy and inpatient and outpatient pediatric rehabilitation. Sara's personal interests are in playing soccer, singing, and going fishing with her husband.
Bethany Kramer, COTA/L
Bethany graduated from the Occupational Therapy Assistant at the Community College of Allegheny County in 1998. Immediately upon graduation she was hired at Washington Health System Washington Hospital where she has worked on the behavioral health unit, acute rehab unit, and throughout the facility on an inpatient therapy basis.
Karly Larkin, PTA
Karly graduated from the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at California University of Pennsylvania in 2010. She joined Washington Health System Washington Hospital following graduation. Karly has clinical experience in both outpatient rehab and skilled nursing.
Jennifer Leichliter, MPT
Jennifer graduated from Gannon University in 2003 with a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy. She has experience in numerous settings including skilled nursing, aquatics, outpatient, acute rehab and inpatient acute care.
Rebecca Litzinger, MPT
Rebecca received her Masters of Physical Therapy from Duquesne University in 1998. She has worked in a variety of settings including outpatient and pediatrics. Rebecca has extensive inpatient and home health experience.
Susan Raimondi, M.S., CCC/SLP
Susan earned a Master?s Degree from Penn State University in Communication Disorders in 1991. She has more than 18 years of experience in the evaluation and treatment of speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders. She is certified in the use of Vital Stim, which is used in the treatment of various swallowing disorders.
Claudia Roberts, OTR/L
Claudia is a 1995 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor?s Degree in Occupational Therapy. Prior to becoming a therapist, she served in the US Army as a German Linguist. Claudia has extensive experience in various settings including home health and inpatient and outpatient OT working in hand therapy and work hardening. She is in the Army Reserves and in 2009-2010 has been deployed overseas working to assist injured soldiers in their recovery.
Sheryl Ruffing, M.S., CCC/SLP
Sheryl graduated from California University in 1996 with a Master of Science Degree in Speech Language Pathology. She has more than 13 years of experience in the evaluation and treatment of speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders. Sheryl is certified in the use of Vital Stim, which is used in the treatment of various swallowing disorders.
Courtney Schmidt, MOTR/L
Courtney graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with a Masters in Occupational Therapy in 2008. She has experience in numerous settings including skilled nursing, outpatient and home health. Courtney joined The Washington Hospital rehab team in 2011.
Beth Warcholak, MPT
Beth graduated from Duquesne University with a Masters of Physical Therapy in 1997. She has worked in outpatient, acute rehab, inpatient orthopedics and home health care. Beth has extensive experience in the inpatient acute care setting.
Joan Wyne, COTA/L
Joan graduated from Mount Aloysius Jr College Occupational Therapy Assistant Program in 1981 and been with Washington Health System Washington Hospital since that time. During the past 28 years, Joan has worked in various settings at the hospital including the mental health unit, inpatient units, home health, the transitional care unit (TCU) and the acute rehab unit (ARU).
