Rehabilitation Services - Inpatient Staff
Our inpatient staff consists of seven Physical Therapists, two Physical Therapist Assistants, five Occupational Therapists, one Occupational Therapy Assistant, two Speech Language Pathologists and three Rehab Attendants.
All of our therapists are licensed by the State of Pennsylvania and have a combined total of more than 275 years of experience caring for patients.
Our staff works closely with the nurses, physicians, and other ancillary departments and are committed to providing the highest level of care.
Our inpatient area is located on the 4th floor of the hospital and includes PT and OT gyms, two Speech offices, as well as our OT apartment and “Main Street”, which includes a car, putting green, and grocery area, with varying floor surfaces and levels.
Susan Alrutz, PT
Sue graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1985 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Therapy. She has worked clinically in both inpatient and outpatient settings over the years. Sue has been in a management role at Washington Health System Washington Hospital since 1991. She has been the Director of Rehabilitation Services since 1997 and currently manages more than 50 staff members.
Sarah Byrom, DPT
Sarah received her Bachelor of Science degree in Health Science Studies with a minor in psychology from Quinnipiac University in 2010. In 2013, she received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Drexel University. Sarah has clinical experience in a variety of settings, including inpatient acute care, outpatient and pediatrics. Sarah enjoys working a split schedule between inpatient and outpatient areas of the rehab department.
Beth Curtis, PTA
Beth graduated from the Physical Therapist Assistant Program at the Butler County Community College in 1998. She joined Washington Health System he Washington Hospital following graduation, working primarily on our transitional care unit for several years. In 2004 Beth moved to our acute rehab unit and continues to practice in this area along with coverage on various inpatient units as needed.
Judith Denault, COTA
Judi graduated from the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program at the Community College of Allegheny County in 1998. She has extensive experience in various settings including inpatient acute care, outpatient hand therapy and work hardening.
Doug DiGiovanni DPT
Doug graduated from Wheeling Jesuit University with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2013. He is a life long resident of Washington Pennsylvania and completed his undergraduate degree at Washington and Jefferson College, where he was a three year letterman as a member of the college's lacrosse team. His professional interests include manual therapy and sports medicine.
Collette DiLeonardo, MPT CCCE
Colette graduated from Duquesne University in 1997 with a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy. She has worked for the hospital for over 12 years, the last 3 years as the Inpatient Rehab Manager. Through her continuing education and work she has gained valuable experience in a variety of settings including outpatient, acute care, inpatient orthopedics, and inpatient rehabilitation.
Hillary Allison, MOTR/L
Hillary graduated from Gannon University with a Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy in 2011. She joined The Washington Hospital Rehab Team following graduation and enjoys working in inpatient acute care.
Erin Halpin, DPT
Erin graduated from Duquesne University in August of 2012 with a Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy and joined the rehabilitation team at the Washington Health System in May of 2013. She has experience in acute care as well acute rehabilitation and orthopedic settings.
Noelle Isiminger, DPT
Noelle graduated from West Virginia University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Physiology and in May 2011 with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy. She joined Washington Health System Washington Hospital rehab team in October 2011. She has experience in various settings including acute rehab, long term care, skilled nursing, outpatient and inpatient hospital acute care.
Hunter Korchak, OTR
Hunter graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2008 with a degree in Biology. In 2012, he completed his Masters in Occupational Therapy from The University of Pittsburgh and joined the Washington Health System following graduation. Hunter has experience in both inpatient and outpatient rehab settings, with a specific interest in hand therapy.
Christie Lattner, PTA
Christie graduated with an Associate’s degree as a Physical Therapist Assistant from California University of Pennsylvania in 2013. She joined the Washington Health System in 2013 following graduation. Christie has had experience in many area of Physical Therapy, including acute, inpatient, outpatient, aquatics, and skilled nursing rehab. Christie’s personal interests include camping, animals, biking, and hiking.
Jennifer Leichliter, MPT
Jennifer graduated from Gannon University in 2003 with a Master's Degree in Physical Therapy. She has experience in numerous settings including skilled nursing, aquatics, outpatient, acute rehab and inpatient acute care.
Susan Raimondi, M.S., CCC/SLP
Susan earned a Master?s Degree from Penn State University in Communication Disorders in 1991. She has more than 18 years of experience in the evaluation and treatment of speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders. She is certified in the use of Vital Stim, which is used in the treatment of various swallowing disorders.
Sheryl Ruffing, M.S., CCC/SLP
Sheryl graduated from California University in 1996 with a Master of Science Degree in Speech Language Pathology. She has more than 13 years of experience in the evaluation and treatment of speech, language, cognitive and swallowing disorders. Sheryl is certified in the use of Vital Stim, which is used in the treatment of various swallowing disorders.
Courtney Schmidt, MOTR/L
Courtney graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with a Masters in Occupational Therapy in 2008. She has experience in numerous settings including skilled nursing, outpatient and home health. Courtney joined Washington Health System Washington Hospital rehab team in 2011.
Brittany Stotka, OTR
Brittany graduated from Slippery Rock in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and graduated from Chatham University in 2013 with a Masters in Occupational therapy. She joined the Washington Health System in July of 2015. She has experience in various settings including pediatrics acute rehab, pediatrics outpatient, skilled nursing facility, and acute care.
Beth Warcholak, MPT
Beth graduated from Duquesne University with a Masters of Physical Therapy in 1997. She has worked in outpatient, acute rehab, inpatient orthopedics and home health care. Beth has extensive experience in the inpatient acute care setting.
Joan Wyne, COTA/L
Joan graduated from Mount Aloysius Jr College Occupational Therapy Assistant Program in 1981 and been with Washington Health System Washington Hospital since that time. During the past 28 years, Joan has worked in various settings at the hospital including the mental health unit, inpatient units, home health, the transitional care unit (TCU) and the acute rehab unit (ARU).
Patty Yaworski, OTR
Patty graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Occupational Therapy. She has extensive experience working with the adult population in inpatient rehab, skilled nursing and the home care setting. She joined Washington Health System as a staff Occupational Therapist in 2013.
