Developmental Screenings The Children’s Therapy Center offers speech/hearing, fine motor, and gross motor developmental screenings for children ages 3 to 5 years. The center’s professionals believe strongly in the importance of early intervention. By identifying difficulties at an early age, the staff can help and try to prevent potential problems. Group screenings may be arranged at daycare and preschool sites. Licensed speech, occupational, and physical therapists will administer a standardized test. Directors: Please call for information and to schedule your facility’s screenings.
"Off the Couch" Aerobics Exercise Program This aerobic exercise program is for children ages 8 and over who are interested in being active and getting in shape. The goals of this program are to help kids improve:
Fee: $55 per child. If
your child is also participating in the "Kids in Action" program the
cost of both programs is $90. This program is intended for children ages 4-12 who are interested in improving their gross motor skills. The "Kids in Action" program goals are to help kids improve:
Fee: $55 per child. If your child is also participating in the "Off the Couch" program the cost of both programs is $90. Financial assistance is
available to cover the cost of this program. Karate for Kids This program is designed for children ages 6 to
12 with special needs. Participants will learn techniques to assist with
balance, coordination, and self-confidence. Aqua Kids "Aqua Kids" is an aquatic exercise program designed for children ages 6 to 12 who have mastered beginning level swimming skills. The program uses therapeutic benefits of water to improve strength, endurance, postural awareness, and gross motor skills while participating in fun, wet activities. "Aqua Kids" program goals use the benefits of water to help children improve:
Learn to Swim The Children's Therapy Center's "Learn to Swim" program is designed for children ages 3 to 12 who need special guidance in mastering modified swim skills and work toward being mainstreamed into other learn to swim programs. Occupational and physical therapists work in consultation with certified swim instructors to provide adaptive equipment and techniques to help children with special needs learn to swim. "Learn to Swim" programs are divided into two age groups, 3 to 6 years and 7 to 12 years and is offered one time per week for six weeks. "Learn to Swim" program goals use the benefits of water to help children improve:
Fee: $60 per six-week session. Write On! “Getting the Upper-hand” Is your child frustrated when trying to write? Would you as a parent, like to see better handwriting results? This six-week program for children ages 6-12 years is geared toward improving the important skills necessary for handwriting success. Your child should possess basic visual motor skills with at least the ability to draw squares, circles, and crosses in order to sign up for this program. The program is divided into two separate classes: “Cursive Success” and “Powerful Printing.” Fee: $75 (includes materials and snacks)
Let’s Dance A creative dance
